This course will allow students to gain knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in the world of computer technology. In this introductory course, students will develop expertise on the Internet, with various forms of electronic communication, programming and multimedia authoring.

Introduction to exciting world of information technology exploring MS Office Programs
Manipulation of Bitmap Images with Fireworks or equivalent
Creating your own Website using HCK on First Class and Flash
2D Animation in Flash
Digital Photo album using iPhoto
Programming in Flash Action Script
Current Events / New Technology (if time permits)
Grade 10 students will have the opportunity to explore any or all of the above in greater detail )
Attendance
Since our time together is so short, it is important that students attend all classes. It is the student’s responsibility to obtain all materials missed during their absence, including all handouts and assignments. If you require an extension for an assignment given during your absence, see me after school on your first day back.
Behavior Expectations
Students must be on time and start working on projects in progress, please be ready for attendance.
Courtesy is expected at all times, if the teacher or another student is sharing something with the class all students are expected to listen.
Food, drinks and gum are NOT permitted in the computer room. These computers need to last a long time and any food or drink will damage them.
Inappropriate Internet or computer use anytime on a school computer will result in the student’s access being removed. This will mean that it is most likely that the student will not be able to complete the course.
At the end of the period logoff the computer and wait to be dismissed
In an emergency, stay calm, quiet, line up at the door walk single file through the courtyard, the last person out of the room shuts the door. In an earthquake, the students follow the same procedure except they stay under the desk for 60 seconds first

A 86 and higher
B 73 to 85
C+ 67 to 72
C 60 to 71
P 50 to 59
I 49 and under
Marks are weighted as follows:
Projects = 60%
Other = 20%
Final project & ACE = 20%
Notes:
Full marks will be earned if project is handed in on time and all criteria covered; therefore it is possible to earn 100% in this course.
After a two-day grace period maximum will be 75%
Any project handed in after the grace period the maximum mark will be 50%
(Unless there is an legitimate reason such as illness Not holidays )
